The Delta is home to a spectacular assemblage of fish and wildlife unique to California. The largest wetland on the west coast, The Delta is in Sacramento's back yard. Yet, to many The Delta is a mystery. The source of water for 24 million Californians, The Delta is now in trouble. Years of development have altered the water's course, causing serious decline in its native fishes. In this show we reveal the hidden beauty of this great waterway; while discussing its present problems and its future. From new management hopes for the endangered delta smelt, to an entire island bought for the winter feeding grounds of an endangered Sandhill crane, people are working to preserve The Delta's wild. But are these efforts enough or will The Delta become a way station for pumping water to the rest of California?
