Depression is quickly becoming a widespread problem, affecting men, women, and children; no one is spared. The consequences of untreated depression can be deadly. In “Depression: Into the Light,” we’ll learn the signs and symptoms of both childhood and adult depression, the role addiction plays in depression, and we’ll look at depression and the biological response to a woman’s rapidly changing hormone levels after pregnancy.

Though a widespread problem, depression is highly treatable. Whether it’s talk therapy and/or the use of medications, treatment works. Acknowledging the problem – being willing to discuss it with a medical professional – helps eliminate much of the stigma.
